Using the available information, consider factors within the classroom environment as well as home or cultural factors which may be relevant to student learning. Must be supported by a minimum of 3 sources, including the set text and two peer reviewed scholarly journal articles. you will utilise APA 6th ed. format, with an appropriate reference page on the end of each case study. (Word count: between 350-400 words for each case study. This includes all text (headings, in-text citations, captions and direct quotes). It excludes the Reference List.
IMPORTANT: Do not copy the case study, but provide enough identifying information that it is clear which case study you are discussing. For example “Case Study 1:”
Outline the steps of the scientific process that a teacher would engage in to solve the problem, including the identification of the problem, the relevant educational theory, and the specific steps the teacher would take to collect and analyse the data in order to make informed decisions and adjust his/her teaching practice.

CASE STUDY 1:
Patrick and Zach are year six students in Mrs. Anderson’s class of 25 students with 13 boys and 12 girls. Zach performs well in Maths, especially the geometry unit just recently completed. During independent work time, he is generally very quiet. Zach is the oldest of three children, and during the last parent/teacher conference,
Zach’s mother mentioned that her and Zach’s father were recently separated, and that she depends on Zach to look after his two younger brothers for an hour after school until she arrives home from work. Patrick, on the other hand, likes participating in skits and plays and his classmates complain sometimes that he “doesn’t stop talking”. Although an average student academically, he enjoys and is quite good in after school sports. Recently, Patrick and Zach seem to always be in conflict. The two boys argue during class and Zach claims that Patrick teases him, often responding angrily to Patrick or even crying. Mrs. Anderson is becoming more and more frustrated, not only are the boys conflicts negatively impacting their classwork, the disruptions are causing the rest of the class to often be off task and disorganized.
CASE STUDY 3:
Tiffany is a cheerful and hardworking second year student who has been diagnosed with a specific learning disability in Maths. During this past month, Ms. Brooks has focused the Maths lessons on learning concepts about money. Tiffany did well, and Ms. Brooks believes it is because she utilized play money to help the class, including Tiffany, learn the concepts. Now the class is learning about time, and Ms. Brooks is again using concrete objects, specifically cardboard clocks with movable hands. Although many of the class is easily learning the concepts, Tiffany, as well as some of her classmates are struggling.
What you are expected to do:
Choose two of the three case studies, and for each, you will need to describe what the problem is, which educational theory, or theories are relevant, and how teachers can collect and analyse the data to make informed decisions for the adjustment of their teaching practice to resolve the problem.
